Too old for Railtrack?

Letters

Referring to Julian Brownridge's letter (NCE 21 February) I also find Railtrack's shortages unexplainable. I wrote to Railtrack when I first heard of the 'shortages' of engineers and executives only to receive a curt letter 'don't call us, we will call you'.

As an out of work ICE member who was trained originally by the old Western Region of British Rail, I find it strange that they dismiss all offers of help. In my small home town there are two members out of work. Is it our age, perhaps?
