Tolo and Fanling highways

The first of two contracts to widen the Tolo and Fanling highways from dual three-lane to dual four-lane carriageway in the north east of the New Territories was let in March to Hong Kong Construction Holdings. The section between the Ma Liu Shui and Island House interchanges is due for completion at the end of 2001.

Mott Connell was awarded an investigation and preliminary design consultancy last February for the northern section between Island House interchange and Fanling.

Another £200M of work will be let.
