Three firms bid for Messina Bridge

Three firms have bid for project management of Italy's 3.3km long Messina Bridge.

US consultant Parsons Transportation Group is competing against an Italian consortium of Snamprogetti and Technip and a FrancoItalian-Norwegian consortium of Systra, Technital and Norcontrol. Client Stretto di Messina said it will name the main contractor for the project before the end of the month. Two consortia led by Italian contractors Astaldi and Impregilo also submitted bids.
