The Royal Academy of Engineering

The Royal Academy of Engineering is inviting nominations for its Sir Frank Whittle medal, which is awarded to a UK engineer who has made an exceptional and sustained contribution to innovations that have benefited the environment. The theme of the award changes each year and was last year won for work on reducing aircraft noise. Sir Frank Whittle pioneered the jet engine. Closing date for nominations is 31 October.
