The outer limits


I am sure that Joe Public will be highly delighted to be able to drive on motorways with 14 lanes.

However, as most drivers tend to prefer driving in only one lane, namely the outer overtaking lane, and the Police seem ambivalent about trying to change this habit, it seems rather a waste to increase the currently unused two inner lanes to a future unused 12 lanes.
