The new E2 Rocket Boomer

TUNNELLING

The Rocket Boomer E2 features a larger and more stable square section BUT 45 telescopic boom, instead of the circular BUT 35 of previous models.

Communications manager Ulf Linder says this is important as it prevents overbreak and concrete tunnel lining is an expensive part of any tunnelling project. It also has a double rotation unit that he claims allows more accurate and faster drill positioning than with earlier rigs.

This is due to a horizontal unit mounted on the boom end with 190 movement and a 135 vertical movement unit for the feed swing.
