The charity Christian Aid has accused the British government of using the lure of a £10M aid package to open up Ghana's water industry to foreign investment. The money is to be released once bids have been received for two contracts to supply water to most of urban Ghana.

Property developer Hampton Trust has revealed plans for a £450M joint venture with Edinburgh based developer Miller Group to build a skyscraper in the centre of Birmingham.

The Arena Central scheme has secured planning permission for a 130,000m mixed office, residential and hotel development including a 50 storey tower which would be the tallest skyscraper in Europe outside London.
