THE ICE this week opened the doors of its first Hong Kong headquarters.

A new full-time member of staff will co-ordinate learned society activity with the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, help to organise professional reviews and provide a focus for 4000 members in Hong Kong.

The office, suitably sited at One Great George Street, Hong Kong, will also operate as a regional centre for South East Asia.

The HQ, which is within the office of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers in the 1 Great George Street building, will be open from 9am-5.30pm on Mondays to Thursdays and 9-5pm on Fridays. New member of staff Nellie Chan will be at the ICE in London later this month, to learn about the Institution.

The project is a joint initiative with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

For more information call Nellie Chan, 00 852 28954446, or Sera Orzel, 0171 665 2154.
