The Highways Agency

The Highways Agency is to undertake a £490M, 10 year scheme to create a national, digital, real time, traffic information system across the motorway network. The National Roads Telecommunications Service will link more than 14,000 message signs and CCTV cameras to the Agency's traffic control centres.

Work will be carried out by the GenSYS consortium comprising Fluor, Alcatel, Mott Macdonald, HSBC, Peek Traffic and Telindus.
