The Gallery | Wythenshawe transport hub opens

Kier’s Wythenshawe transport interchange opened today, providing better links between buses and trams in the Greater Manchester town.

The £6M scheme was delivered by the contractor for Transport for Greater Manchester and includes a travel shop, cycle parking facilities, enhanced CCTV and passenger information systems.

More than 70 solar panels fitted to the roof provide about 10% of the energy for the building.

Transport for Greater Manchester Committee chair Andrew Fender said: “This is a hugely significant landmark for the town.

“The interchange will provide better links between buses and trams, improving access to jobs across the area, at the airport and in the city centre for the people of Wythenshawe.”
