A new crawler crane is on site as the project to create Orchard station in Singapore ramps up.

The Liebherr HS 885 HD joined two existing Liebherr duty cycle crawler cranes from the Bachy Soletanche fleet.

They are being used to build the diaphragm wall, barrettes and cross walls of the station, together with the cripple siding.

A joint venture of Bachy Soletanche and Penta-Ocean of Japan is building Orchard Station for S$498M (£244M). It is expected to finish the work in late 2020.

Orchard Station will provide an interchange between the under-construction Thomson Line and the existing North-South Line.
