The Gallery | Brazil's 12 World Cup stadiums from space

Airbus has captured these stunning images of the 12 stadiums that will be used for the FIFA World Cup in Brazil next month.

Satellites used by Airbus Defence and Space took the pictures of the venues in their immediate setting as seen from space.

The tournament will begin with Brazil playing Croatia at the Arena de Sao Paulo on Thursday 12 June.

The final will be held at the Maracana in Rio de Janeiro on 13 July.

Brazil faced a massive challenge preparing all its World Cup stadiums for the showpiece tournament, admitting at times that it was struggling.
