The Gallery and Video | Construction of 153,000-panel solar energy park

Renewable energy company Kinetica Solar has completed the construction of a 39MW solar energy park in Lincolnshire.

Construction of the Raventhorpe Solar Park, in Scunthorpe, took place over three months.

More than 150,000 solar panels and over 2M metres of cable were installed, along with nearly 30,000 supporting piles.

Kinetica Solar senior project manager Charlie Young said: “The project was successfully completed and commissioned within schedule.

“It has been great to work in an area so committed to making the generation of clean, renewable energy a reality, and we look forward to the project benefiting the area for years to come.”

Kinetica Solar director of planning Nathan Welch said: “We have always believed in the merits of this site; it will have a low visual impact, is well screened by mature trees and will improve the ecology of the area through measures such as the creation of native wildflower meadows.”
