The Court of Appeal

The Court of Appeal this week removed an injunction preventing construction of part of London Underground's East London Line extension.

Work could start by the end of this week unless opponents to the scheme appeal to the House of Lords.

lEntries are now being sought for the 2003 Fleming Awards for geotechnical engineering, sponsored by Cementation Foundations Skanska. Details and an entry form can be downloaded from www. skanska.co.uk/Fleming 2003.

Winners will be announced on Wednesday 3rd December at an award ceremony being held at the Institution of Civil Engineers, London.
