The brief

The winning shot will be a photograph that celebrates a specific example of the built environment. It should highlight the way that the infrastructure contributes to life and show how the particular subject chosen touches the lives of those around it. The picture should be no more than eight weeks old and show a contemporary view of infrastructure under construction, being maintained or in operation. The entry should be accompanied by a 50word explanation of how it fulfills the brief plus details of the camera, setting and conditions.

The competition will be split into three rounds: Spring: Closing date 16 June 2005 Summer: Closing date 1 September Autumn: Closing date 10 November
