Thames Valley

Ice News

Howard Larkin (M) Consultant I have served on the committee of the Thames Valley local association for eight years including sessions as chairman, vice chairman and honorary programme secretary.

I would like to continue my involvement in Institution affairs and if elected would not only represent local members views and get the best out of the Institution for them, but also would look to raising the profile of the profession both at local level and on the wider national and international stage.

I have worked for contractors all my life until recently and remain active in the profession as a consultant.

Richard Levett (M) Principal training manager, Scott Wilson As training manager I see at first hand the value of training.

My recent experience has been gained delivering training in international procurement procedures in China and countries of the former Soviet Union. In these countries there is a great demand for UK experience and knowledge, particularly in our multi-faceted approach to project implementation.

I would like to be instrumental in sharing this knowledge and experience both within the UK and internationally. I believe the ICE can offer a world lead in contract management.

I am pleased to offer my services to Council.

Mike Thorn (F) Independent consultant The Institution must keep pace with the industry and society it serves, particularly encouraging its younger members and supporting local associations to deliver services relevant to its wider membership beyond London.

I have long been at the heart of change - in the privatisation of research centres, the launch and development of Research Focus, the updating of the ICE journals, and motivating and supporting research through the R&D enabling fund. I support those attempting to shake off the Institution's fustian image, and to make it look forwards and outwards - leading, not following.
