Terminal building work begins for New York's JFK airport

Work has begun on a new 26 gate terminal building for New York's John F Kennedy airport. Port Authority of New York & New Jersey is working with JetBlue Airlines on the scheme, which will occupy a 30ha stretch of land behind the original Terminal Five, now preserved as a historical building but unused by the airlines. The airport recently topped the growth list of major US airports with an 8% rise in passengers in 20022003.
