Tech firm announces product integration deal

Volvo excavator 3x2

Trimble has reached an agreement to integrate its machine control technology with Volvo CE excavators.

Under the agreement, Trimble’s 3D machine control solution will be integrated with Volvo Dig Assist 2D machine control on Volvo excavators.

Trimble said its control technology will complement the Volvo Dig Assist capability to enable the use of 3D constructible models, as-built data and other Trimble Connected Site technologies.

“The solution that we are developing will provide our customers a world class combination of Volvo premium machine technology and Trimble Connected Site technologies that include geometric site data,” said Volvo vice president of business platform solutions Niels Haverkorn.

“We are very pleased to work with Volvo on a machine control solution integrating the best of what both companies have to offer,” added Trimble vice president Bryn Fosburgh. “Contractors are seeking new ways to improve competitiveness, efficiency and productivity. Tightly integrating Trimble solutions with Volvo allows our mutual customers to more easily leverage construction technology in their business.”
