WSP has produced engineering designs for the new riverside stand at Fulham Football Club’s Craven Cottage stadium, which sits on the banks of London’s River Thames.

The new structure will be two-tierd and have a capacity for 30,000, as well as a new section of riverside path.

It was designed in conjunction with Populous Architects. WSP is undertaking engineering design including structural and geotechnical engineering, building services, façade and fire engineering, environmental, security, transport planning and acoustics.

WSP director of stadium design Peter Chipchase said: “Stadia are wonderful pieces of architectural engineering which succeed when the full team works together in an open, creative and collaborative way. They enable us to stretch our imaginations and use cutting edge technologies to create the very best experience for the fans.”

Work is expected to begin in early 2019.
