Innovyze has launched an asset management tool to tackle water infrastructure problems.
The InfoAsset Online tool allows water companies to share the status of their water, wastewater and other assets (such as pipes, pumps, valves and drainage structures) with maintenance crews, consultants, planning departments and contractors.
It comes after water watchdog Ofwat said that water companies should “up their game” in cutting the 3bn litres of water lost to leaks in the UK everyday.
Innovyze product manager Tony Andrews said: “With InfoAsset Online, potentially everyone in a water organisation can have controlled and tailored access to water and wastewater network asset information.
“This includes inspection, incident, intervention, and customer data, configured for their particular role. Utilities should see immediate gains in efficiency and productivity because data and information traditionally held separately in data silos throughout an organisation will now be immediately available in the office or in the field, through an easy-to-use web application.”
The software allows for monitoring of:
- Physical characteristics of assets
- Associated inspections such as CCTV pipe inspections and hydrant tests
- Scheduled and unscheduled work, both ongoing and completed, such as pipe jetting and valve maintenance
- Active and closed incidents reports such as CSO/SSOs and mains bursts
