£3.3bn Highways England framework in pipeline

NCE stock roads

Highways England has issued a notice saying it is going to procure a £3.3bn pavement framework.

The framework is related to tier two and three suppliers for the supply of materials, plant and labour to carry out bituminous and concrete patching, surfacing and pavement construction operations. The work includes planning, paving, iron work adjustment and renewal, footway surfacing and asphalt kerbing. There may also be some emergency response work.

The frameworks will last around four years and are allocated on a regional lots basis covering the North East, East, South East, West, Midlands and North West. Each region will have two sub lots, making 12 lots in total. Any bidder will be awarded a maximum of five lots.
