Take the Tube

With reference to your article 'Weeks appointed as singlesource consultant for Tube line' (GE March 02), I would like to clarify a few details.

First, the headline refers to a 'Tube line' appointing the consultants. In this instance, 'Tube line' should refer to the Central Line, as opposed to the Tube Lines Consortium, announced as preferred bidder for Infraco JNP, one of three subsidiaries of London Underground established under the proposed PPP contract.

Weeks Consulting is one of two consultants to be appointed after a rigorous tender process, and in strict compliance with EU procurement law. Both consultants will undertake detailed assessments of the condition and stability of earth structures on sections of the Central Line to the east and west of London.
