Sunderland road project advertised

A local authority in the North East is seeking a contractor for a road building project.

Sunderland City Council advertised for expressions of interest in a deal to construct 520m of new highway to realign the A1290.

Works will also include a junction, and widening of Nissan Way to become dual carriageway.

At least five firms will be invited to tender for the work, and contractors have until 10 August to express their interest.
