Structural CD free to engineers

Spotlight Computer software

Ward Building Components has launched a CD known as Toolkit, which incorporates four interactive structural design programmes.

The CD is free to engineers and users of Ward structural products, and includes structural design programmes for the company's Multibeam Purlin, Rail Systems, Multichannel and Multideck Flooring products.

Toolkit assists users in meeting the requirements of the latest wind code BS6399-2 1997 part 2. It features integrated information derived from the Ordnance Survey, the latest BREVe topographical information and BRECp external coefficients. These features enable users to take full account of minimum distances to the sea and topography surrounding a proposed construction site. It then provides fully calculated wind pressure data for the building from each of 12 wind directions and applies it to the sides, corners and roofs of the structure.

Ward Toolkit includes a wealth of technical literature, including the company's Insulated Panels handbook, to provide a wide selection of construction details that can be accessed in AutoCAD format. It offers a single reference source on Ward systems.
