Spie gets £12M gas contract renewal

Spie has had its £6M per year contract with SGN renewed for a further two years.

Part of the new contract involves a gas mains service replacement programme, with Spie managing work on up to 60km of gas mains and service lines across the Thames Valley and Oxford.

The job entails decommissioning of metallic gas mains and installing new mains using live gas insertion techniques, dead insertion and open cut mainlaying.

The work involves health and safety, and environmental management and control of all works, including undertaking responsibilities of a construction design and management principal contractor.

“As with any street and road works, Spie’s focus will be on completing schemes in the shortest time possible to reduce community disruption, without compromising health and safety whilst ensuring our operations cause minimum impact to the environment,” said Spie industrial services business managing director Steven Nanda.
