Speed wins out in tight CleverClogs tie-break

INTELLECTUAL STRENGTH and endurance to rival an Olympian challenge helped separate NCE's Cleverclogs summer term winners from the chasing pack.

After a tie-break question, the individual term competition was won by Gareth Evans of MJ Gleeson and the team competition by the Vehicle Design Group of Ove Arup & Partners.

All winners scooped Amazon gift vouchers worth £125 provided by sponsor ACO Technologies.

The tie-break was forced after week 12's killer question failed to separate a record 23 finalists in the individual category and the 16 team finalists. The quickest answer won the day and after nearly three months of competition the summer term was decided by just minutes.

To ensure fair play, finalists all had access to the team and individual tie-break questions from the website at 11am on 5 August.

The winner was the first contestant to send a text message with the answer to a special number.

Questions are now being prepared for the autumn term, which starts on 2 September.

As ever, current competitors do not need to re-register. New contestants should visit www. cleverclogsonline today to register for individual or team entry.
