Spanish government allocates HSR funding

The Spanish government has allocated €221M (£193M) for its Madrid to Galicia high speed rail line, despite the current debt crisis plaguing the Euro zone.

The funding will go towards construction on two sections: Portocamba  to Campobecerros and Cerdedelo to Portocamba.

The Portocamba to Campobecerros stretch is 4.2km and will include construction of a tunnel while the 2.3km Cerdedelo to Portocamba stretch will also include a tunneled section along with construction of a viaduct.

Construction will finish in 2015.
