South West Water

South West Water is to lose 100 of its 1,400 staff by natural wastage between 2005 and 2010 to meet regulatory efficiency targets. The cuts follow Anglian Water's announcement last month that it plans to lose 200 staff before April. Regulator Ofwat recently announced water price limits, asking companies to make operational efficiency savings of 2.4% every year. Other companies are expected to make similar announcements on job losses.
