South London crane collapse kills two

An investigation is under way after two people died when a 50m crane collapsed onto a block of flats.
The driver of the crane at a building site in Battersea, south-west London, died along with a man who was crushed as he was washing his car. A third man suffered minor injuries. The flats were evacuated but police said no-one inside was hurt. The accident happened shortly before 6pm on Tuesday. Builder Barratts said it was co-operating with the investigation authorities.
