SOUND FOOTING: Young minds were recently applied to bridge building solutions at the behest of a £150 prize for the winner from Southern association.

Teams from local schools set to work at the Eastleight Business Centre to design a new footbridge

over the railway at Southampton Airport Station. Pupils from Lymington's Priestlands School beat 11 other schools with a submission of 'thought and ingenuity', according to Southern association chairman Peter Cross (second from right).
