Something fishy in Battersea

Letters

In your cover story (NCE 14-28 December 2000) you ascribe the former Battersea goods railway yard to the GNER.

Wrong: it was constructed by the Great Western Railway (GWR), and was closed by the western region of British Railways (BR(W)) years before formation of the GNER.

Derek Edwards, MICE, 36 Croft Avenue, West Wickham, Kent, BR4 0QJ
