Fantastic! The launch of a photo competition with support from outside organisations like the Royal Photographic Society is just the type of marketing and promotion we need more of.

Since engineering and science is struggling to compete with arts and sports for main stream media coverage, then this type of scheme shows that engineers are able to integrate engineering with a creative promotional medium like photography.

I hope that the winning entries will be from engineers demonstrating how fascinating their jobs can be, not from a professional photographer!

What is next in the pipeline - an engineering reality TV show perhaps!
