Skanska wins New York campus project

Swedish contractor Skanska has won a $373M (£242M) contract to complete the final phase of the City University of New York Advanced Science Research Campus at City College in Manhattan.

The project includes the interior fit-out of approximately 37,000m², comprising the four-story City College of New York Building, the five-story Advanced Science and Research Centre Building, a common shared ground floor and a plaza area constructed on the roof of the shared ground floor between the two buildings.

The contract also includes extensive sitework and landscaping, an auditorium and loading dock areas.

The project, for the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY), is due for completion by mid 2014.
