Singapore port redevelopment contract awarded

The first contract in the redevelopment of Singapore Tuas Mega Port has been awarded to a consortium of Hyundai, Samsung, Penta Ocean, Boskalis and Van Oord.

The consortium’s work on the Tuas Finger One pier includes dredging and construction of a 3.4km quay wall and will start this month.

The contract was awarded by Jurong Town Corporation and is worth S$960M (£453M)and will take four years to complete

The contract is part of plans to relocate Singapore’s container terminals to the industrial hub of Tuas over the next eight years.
