Sika targets basements with lining

Sika has developed a new waterproofing product in response to the increased demand for underground parking and basement construction in the UK. The company says the new product marks a move away from the conventional mastic asphalt membranes, cementitious mortars and geosynthetic liners that are normally used for waterproofing solutions.

The SikaProof A membrane is embossed with a grid pattern, which contains a sealant and is topped by a thin layer of fleece. Sika says the system can be used to line base slabs and walls in new construction applications before the final layer of concrete is applied.
