Severn partners not consultants

I agree with the general thrust of your lead story (NCE 30 March) relating to the major water companies consolidating their contractor base and the drive to batch smaller projects into contracts. However, I need to address two issues relating to Severn Trent.

The first relates to our framework partners. You included Binnie Black and Veatch as consultants to Severn Trent. They should be included in the contractor list.

The second issue relates to the squeezing out of small consultants from the water market. We are reviewing this issue on the basis that some small/medium size consultants continue to deliver a high quality of service.
