Seven designs have reached the final round of the Design a Bridge competition sponsored by wood. for good. in association with NCE schools magazine, NCEinsight. Three entries went through from the 9-11 age group, with two each from the 6-8 and 1213 categories. Designs should support pedestrians and cyclists and must both look good and work well as an engineering structure.

Environmental issues are also taken into account. Final selection will take place at the ICE on 16 December and the judges will choose one winner in each category, plus an overall winner. The outstanding team and tutor will win a trip to Norway to visit the approximately =s bridge, a timber crossing built to a design by Leonardo da Vinci.
