Second Dome writ still outstanding

THE NEW Millennium Experience Company said on Tuesday that it had still not received a threatened second writ from German fabric cladding supplier Koch Hightech claiming 2.3M compensation for cancellation last August of its contract to supply roof cladding for the Greenwich Dome.

Koch Hightech is already suing NMEC for 1.2M over alleged violations of European procurement regulations after the cladding contract was awarded to US-based Birdair. An NMEC spokesman said the company was still vigorously contesting these claims.

He added: It is our intention to settle claims arising out of the original contracts cancellation under the terms of the cancellation clauses in that contract. There is absolutely no need for this issue to be decided in court.
