Seabed investigations between Europe and North Africa

A joint venture between UK contractor Seacore and Norway's Eidesvik Subsea is to carry out seabed investigations between Europe and North Africa as part of plans to build a tunnel between Spain and Morocco. Strong currents are anticipated in the Strait of Gibraltar during the drilling, which will go 350m below the sea bed. Seacore's R100 drill rig is expected to be needed for up to 200 days.
