Roads - Round up

A spray applied polyurethane elastometer supplied by PmB Pitchmastic has provided protection to the deck of the Petra Rou Romiou bridge in Cyprus. The 420m bridge, designed by Hyder in association with Lardis, spans a deep gorge on the route between Limassol and Paphos. Because of the highly saline atmosphere, it was decided to use the PmB waterproofing system which consists of a primer followed by application of the waterproof membrane using a computer controlled spray plant.

First phase application of 5,000m 2was completed in just 10 days by local specialist Odotechniki with technical support from Pitchmastic. Main contractor for the bridge was a joint venture of China Wanbao Engineering and A Panayides Contracting.
