Scottish beef

I agree that NCE should champion the cause of civil engineers being more involved in politics, and Antony Oliver's Comment last week did this admirably.

But I must object to the way the subject has been made the cover story and in particular the reporting on pages 14 and 15.

This has taken a valid argument on a principal to blatant electioneering on behalf of individuals.

The Western les constituency is a prime SNP target - to be an advocate for their candidate for the tenuous reason that he is a former civil engineer is not the role of NCE.

I have been employed as a civil engineer for nearly 40 years but will not be using my vote for Mr MacNeil - I will be voting for the person whose policies and opinions most reflect my own.
