Scott Wilson has scooped a lucrative project management role on the Saudi Railways Organisation’s (SRO’s) new £1.1bn Haramain High Speed Rail Project.
Scott Wilson’s contract is valued at £14.5M over the next five years. The consultant will provide technical, specialist engineering and programme management support services to the SRO at its headquarters in Dammam and around the construction sites.
The railway is the first high speed rail project in the Middle East. It will be a 320km/h line linking the cities of Makkah, Jeddah, the new King Abdullah Economic City and Medina, as well as the International Airport in Jeddah.
The 440km line will provide a fast and safe transport for pilgrims to the Holy Cities, and serve as a highly effective public transport link between fast growing and economically active commercial centres.
“Saudi Arabia is a rapid growth area with continuing investment in key infrastructure,” said Scott Wilson chief executive Hugh Blackwood.
