Safety survey carried out

A $3.2M safety survey is being carried out for the high speed Turin-Lyon rail link between France and Italy, which includes a 53km long tunnel at Frejus in the Alps and another smaller tunnel. The line will be a combined freight and passenger link. Dutch firm Arcadis will work with French Scetauroute and Semaly, and Metropolitane Milanese of Italy to assess fire and toxic spill dangers in the tunnels.
