Rugby Cement faces a judicial inquiry

Rugby Cement faces a judicial inquiry into the siting, construction and operation of its Rugby city centre cement kiln. The inquiry will probe the plant's compliance with new Integrated Pollution Prevention & Control (IPPC) legislation. It is claimed that flue emissions of particulates, dioxins, sulphur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide breach European Union maximum levels.
