Royal Institution announces art Competition

Royal Institution has launched a competition to celebrate its reopening in spring 2008, filling a niche in its new building, following a £20 million refurbishment.

The Niche Prize, run by the Royal Institution (RI) in partnership with science journal Nature will see two winning artworks installed in the new building for a year beginning in 2008.

Judges of the prize will include Susan Greenfield, Director of the Royal Institution, Philip Campbell, Editor-in-Chief of Nature and Lady Ritblat. They will be looking for entries that identify with the global agenda and the democratization of science for which the RI is famous.

The deadline for entry is 22 February. For more information on the guidelines and to download an application form, visit http://www.rigb.org/events/awards.jsp.
