Royal Haskoning appoints new chairman

Royal Haskoning has appointed Erik Oostwegel as its new chairman.

Oostwegel, 44, succeeds Jan Bout, who will step down to retire on 1 January. Oostwegel has worked for Royal Haskoning since 1992 and for the past four years has served as divisional director of industrial installations.

On the same date, Frank Heemskerk will join the board of management as one if its directors. Heemskerk, 41, was secretary of state at the Ministry of Economic Affairs in the fourth Balkenende cabinet up until February this year.

Royal Haskoning, founded in 1881, is active in 17 countries and employs 3,900 staff.
