First of the two double steel arches for Spanish architect/engineer Santiago Calatrava's new roof to Athens' main Olympic stadium is now taking shape. Tubular steel sections are being erected on temporary towers alongside the 85,000 seat facility. The roof comprises a 303m wide 85m high arch straddling the stadium.
