Rochester rail redevelopment underway

Redevelopment of Rochester’s railway station is currently taking a step closer to reality with installation of the foundations for the new £26M facility.

Bachy Soletanche is working as main contractor with Atkins Rail and C Spencer on the work to install 223 CFA bearing piles, as well as undertaking mini piling, for the new station.

The new railway station is being built 500m down the line from the exiting site so that journeys are not interrupted during the redevelopment, which is due to be completed by Christmas next year. The new station will allow longer trains to be used on the line.
