Robert M J Millar
The South West
Engineer, Business Development
Graduated from the then Poly of Wales in 1982. Spent a year with a small two man Consultancy and thereafter with a number Contractors such as Christiani Nielson, Laing, Britannia, Cementation P&F and Keller. Left the specialist Geo. Eng. Field, like may others after some 18+ yrs with Keller in Jan. 2009.
Following a short spell with BBGE I enjoyed the challenge of another aspect of Construction by spreading the gospel of portable water treatment solutions as per Siltbuster.
Nearly there. As of January 2014 I joined SOCTEC UK (prev. ESG; ie Soil Mechanics, Exploration Associates, CL Assoc., Scientifics, TS Bretby & Weeks), trying to convince Clients that we are still top of the pile.
Having found the Clients/Contractor relationship very unrewarding in the field of SI & materials Testing I have, as of February 2018 taken on the challenge of raising Van Elle's name as the, 'go to', ground engineering contract on my old patch, Wales & the South West.

I trust that no one was on the slip at the time.

can someone please apply the basis engineering principle of making the units of measure CLEAR. What is a Billion???????? a UK gallon does not equal a US gallon, so are we talking US Billions or UK Billions (ie 1,000,000,000,000).
Comment on: Armitt to teach engineering students
Nice one Surrey!
May he and the rest be safe.
Glad to see that little has changed in terms of the FPS approach to innovation and collaboration, but sadly most of the feed back on tenders I see still suggest its a dog eat dog world out there. For the present anyway.
