Roads to rue in


Your article on 'mega motorways' made interesting reading (NCE 29 November).

We should welcome these measures to reduce congestion, provided that they are part of a larger package of public transport improvements.

However, before we all get excited about upgrading the M3/M4/M40 to dual seven lanes, spare a thought for those of us who regularly drive along the busy M8/A8 between Edinburgh and Glasgow - we're still waiting for an upgrade to motorway on some sections.
